Incorrect information. This house was not built with gambrel roof, nor was it built in 1750.
The circa 1750 date comes from the book Architecture in Salem. The use of “circa” or “around” indicates that the house was not specifically built in 1750 but around that time. Nowhere do I indicate that the house was built with a gambrel roof and, in fact, the statement “later altered to its present appearance” shows that the house does indeed look different than originally built.
