A bank had existed on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gazettenet.com\/living\/16133577-95\/tick-talk-cheers-greet-return-of-timepiece-to-northampton-main-street\">the site<\/a> since 1865. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historic-northampton.org\/virtual_tours\/architecture\/q1firstnational.html\">The current impressive structure<\/a> on the site was designed in the Art Deco\/Art Moderne style by <a href=\"http:\/\/cinematreasures.org\/firms\/1224\">J. Williams Beal &#038; Sons<\/a>. Since 1993 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waymarking.com\/waymarks\/WMCHB5_Former_First_National_Bank_Building_Northampton_MA\">the building<\/a> has been home to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.silverscapedesigns.com\/\">Silverscape Designs<\/a>, founded by jewelry-designer Denis Perlman, who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.silverscapedesigns.com\/history.html\">loving restored the former bank<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The First National Bank building at 1 King Street in Northampton was built in 1928.
