John Bertram<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.salemweb.com\/tales\/bertram.shtml\">1795-1882<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=9iP5brDeiq4C&#038;lpg=PA295&#038;ots=mLLWomTVcn&#038;dq=Bertram-Waters%20House%20salem&#038;pg=PA162#v=onepage&#038;q=Bertram-Waters%20House%20salem&#038;f=false\">designed in the Renaissance Revival style<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/books.google.com\/books\/about\/Collection_of_Architectural_Drawings_by.html?id=wcaYnQEACAAJ\">Salem architects<\/a> William H. Emmerton and Joseph C. Foster. Known as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/item\/ma0169\/\">Bertram-Waters House<\/a>, in 1887 it was donated by Capt.
