Now the oldest standing church in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clintonmass.com\/forum\/viewtopic.php?id=5571\">Clinton<\/a>, it was erected on land donated by <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=jUUVAAAAYAAJ&#038;lpg=PA203&#038;ots=GKU7KJB5iN&#038;dq=clinton%20mass%20Henry%20Fairbanks&#038;pg=PA203#v=onepage&#038;q=clinton%20mass%20Henry%20Fairbanks&#038;f=false\">Henry Fairbanks<\/a>, one of the partners in <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/stream\/centuryofcarpetr00bige\/centuryofcarpetr00bige_djvu.txt\">the Bigelow Carpet Company<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/mhc-macris.net\/Details.aspx?MhcId=CLI.64\">The church<\/a> was raised in 1872 when the current first level was added underneath the original 1853 church. No longer a Unitarian church, in recent years <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/clintonmass\/245969027\/\">the building has lost its steeple<\/a>.
