For half of each month, it was the residence and workplace of the Ministry&#8211;the Elders who governed a bishopric that included both the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nashobapublishing.com\/ci_21226651\/shaker-era-buildings-harvard-tour?source=most_viewed\">Harvard<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nps.gov\/nr\/travel\/shaker\/shi.htm\">Shirley<\/a> Shaker villages. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loc.gov\/pictures\/item\/ma0568.photos.077080p\/\">The building<\/a>, at <a href=\"http:\/\/mhc-macris.net\/Details.aspx?MhcId=HRV.99\">84 Shaker Road<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/travel\/articles\/2006\/05\/14\/shaker_keepsakes_on_route_to_holy_hill_in_harvard\/\">Harvard<\/a>, is now a private residence.
