Designed by Fuller &#038; Delano, the impressive Romanesque Revival structure served as a grammar school (called the <a href=\"http:\/\/bob.trachimowicz.org\/1B01-15.jpg\">Salisbury Street School<\/a>) until it became a high school in 1911.  <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mass.historicbuildingsct.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/North-High-School-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"North High School, 1916\" width=\"500\" height=\"362\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5491\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mass.historicbuildingsct.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/North-High-School-002.jpg 500w, https:\/\/mass.historicbuildingsct.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/North-High-School-002-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p>A new Classical Revival <a href=\"http:\/\/www.preservationworcester.org\/pages\/pagessalis\/s07hs\/north-high-school-sliced.html\">school building<\/a>, designed by John T. Simpson, was added next door in 1915-1916 to expand the school.  The <a href=\"http:\/\/mhc-macris.net\/Details.aspx?MhcId=WOR.376\">former school buildings<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/North_High_School_%28Worcester,_Massachusetts%29\">North High School<\/a> moved to another building in 1980) were both converted to condominiums in the 1980s.   <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The photograph above shows the original 1889 North High School Building at 46 Salisbury Street in Worcester.
