It was acquired in 1907 by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wickedlocal.com\/wayland\/news\/lifestyle\/columnists\/x1641099687\/Wayland-A-Z-P-is-for-Jonathan-M-Parmenter#axzz27yohIr7o\">Jonathan Maynard Parmenter<\/a>, a wealthy farmer, cattle dealer and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.parmenter.org\/history.asp\">generous local philanthropist<\/a>, who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wickedlocal.com\/wayland\/news\/lifestyle\/columnists\/x1641099687\/Wayland-A-Z-P-is-for-Jonathan-M-Parmenter?zc_p=2#axzz27yohIr7o\">donated it<\/a> to the the <a href=\"http:\/\/mass.historicbuildingsct.com\/?p=520\">First Parish in Wayland<\/a> as a parsonage in memory of his brother and business partner, <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=w2UlAQAAMAAJ&#038;pg=PA373#v=onepage&#038;q&#038;f=false\">Henry Dana Parmenter<\/a>.
