It was built in 1898 and <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=SAMhAQAAMAAJ&#038;lpg=PA83&#038;ots=gk7hb98KPC&#038;dq=%22Ball%20block%22%20holyoke&#038;pg=PA83#v=onepage&#038;q=%22Ball%20block%22%20holyoke&#038;f=false\">known<\/a> as the <a href=\"http:\/\/kurtz-inc.com\/historic-ball-building.shtml\">Ball Block<\/a> (or <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=C8InX3IfhlUC&#038;lpg=PP1&#038;pg=PA22#v=onepage&#038;q&#038;f=false\">Realty Building<\/a>).  It was later altered on its lower levels to become the <a href=\"http:\/\/barkervilleantiques.ecrater.com\/p\/11743954\/holyoke-national-bank-ma\">Holyoke National Bank Building<\/a>.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masslive.com\/news\/index.ssf\/2009\/04\/new_england_farm_workers_counc.html\">Recently renovated<\/a> (and winning a Preservation Award<\/a> from the Massachusetts Historical Commission in 2005) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jdarchitects.com\/historical2.html\">the building<\/a> is <a href=\"http:\/\/photos.masslive.com\/republican\/2012\/02\/ho328_down_searsjpg.html\">now known<\/a> as the Latino Professional Building.     <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The building pictured above is at 225 High Street in Holyoke, diagonally across the street from city hall.
