It was also the home of merchants John W. Rogers (from 1831 to 1844) and <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=Z2saAAAAYAAJ&#038;lpg=PA140&#038;ots=cwa0p8lJjg&#038;dq=%22Thomas%20P.%20Pingree%22%20salem&#038;pg=PA140#v=onepage&#038;q=%22Thomas%20P.%20Pingree%22%20salem&#038;f=false\">Thomas P. Pingree<\/a> (from 1844 to 1858).
