Clark, a Morocco manufacturer.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedistractedwanderer.com\/2011\/12\/clarence-s-clark-house-in-historic.html\">The house<\/a> stands on the site of the <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=pGpNAAAAMAAJ&#038;pg=PA66-IA1#v=onepage&#038;q&#038;f=false\">Sprague-White House<\/a>, built c. 1796 and demolished c. 1893, which may have been the work of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salemweb.com\/tales\/mcintire.shtml\">Samuel McIntire<\/a>.  <a href=\"http:\/\/lorlomoskiphotos.smugmug.com\/Events\/The-Clarence-S-Clark-House\/20500812_dCxW3v#!i=1623409959&#038;k=VHTw8PF\">The Clark House<\/a>&#8216;s Federal-style two-story carriage house survives to the rear of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montserrat.edu\/blog\/president\/president-immerman%E2%80%99s-house-santa-would-be-proud-to-call-%E2%80%9Chome%E2%80%9D\/\">the property<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Colonial Revival house at 376 Essex Street in Salem was built around 1894 for businessman Clarence S.
