In 1797, he <a href=\"http:\/\/dunhamwilcox.net\/ma\/salem_marr_b4.htm\">married<\/a> Sally Bullock and moved to Salem, acquiring land for his home and shop on Federal Street through his wife&#8217;s family.  In more recent times, the house was converted into three condominiums.  The house&#8217;s owners caused a stir in the neighborhood when they painted the house <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myperfectcolor.com\/en\/color\/69765_California-Paints-Clementine\">a reddish-orange color called &#8220;Clementine&#8221;<\/a> (manufactured by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.californiapaints.com\/\">California Paints<\/a>), which <a href=\"http:\/\/binged.it\/wbL0eS\">contrasts<\/a> with the more muted hues of neighboring houses on Federal Street.  Although Clementine is <a href=\"http:\/\/iantiqueonline.ning.com\/group\/restorationdestinationvintageandretrohomeimproveme\/forum\/topics\/california-paints-historic\">a historic color<\/a> developed by Historic New England and approved by the Salem Historical Commission, some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/articles\/2003\/12\/07\/hue_to_do\/\">neighbors sued the condo owners<\/a> in 2003, complaining about the orange glow from the house!
