It is not certain who built <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trulia.com\/homes\/Massachusetts\/Natick\/sold\/275329-24-Eliot-St-Natick-MA-01760\">the house<\/a>, but by the mid-nineteenth century it was owned by Samuel Walcott, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1860\/11\/07\/news\/fire-in-natick-mass.html\">shoe manufacturer<\/a>.  In 1856 or 1863, Philip Weihgant, a cordwainer, bought the house.  <a href=\"http:\/\/annals.org\/content\/13\/6\/1096.extract\">His son<\/a>, Dr. Frank J. Weigand, graduated from Long Island Medical College in Brooklyn in 1900 and practiced in Richmond Hill, Queens.
