The original section of his house, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zillow.com\/homedetails\/44-Pomeroy-Ter-Northampton-MA-01060\/57023821_zpid\/\">44 Pomeroy Terrace<\/a>, was built in 1848.  The house is architecturally notable for the extensive additions made to the structure for <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=l84UAAAAYAAJ&#038;pg=PA880#v=onepage&#038;q&#038;f=false\">Mr. French<\/a> in 1870 by architect William F. Pratt, who may or may not have designed the earlier part of the house.  In an 1883-4 Directory, <a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=nn1yyHiYJFYC&#038;pg=PA1921#v=onepage&#038;q&#038;f=false\">M.M.
