This Italianate house was built for Thorndike and Sarah Daniels.  It was later owned by Dennison Osborne and next served as a boarding house.  The house&#8217;s last residents, from 1945-1997, were Dr. Benjamin Salata, a dentist, and wife, Celia, a music teacher.  She donated the house to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peabodyhistorical.org\/\">Peabody Historical Society<\/a>, which already owned the adjacent <a href=\"http:\/\/mass.historicbuildingsct.com\/?p=2248\">General Gideon Foster House<\/a>.  Today the Osborne-Salata House contains the Historical Society&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peabodyhistorical.org\/cassidy_museum.asp\">Elizabeth Cassidy Folk Art Museum<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/peabodyart.tripod.com\/id6.html\">Peabody Art Association Gallery<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peabodyhistorical.org\/library_archives.asp\">Ruth Hill Library &#038; Archives<\/a>.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Osborne-Salata House, at 33 Washington Street in Peabody, was constructed around 1860.
